Indy/ Jacksonville- We already know the outcome of this one and I highly doubt any of us are surprised. Jacksonville is right down their with the Chiefs in that category of "can't change the channel fast enough" teams. Their defense is average and boring, Gabbert is God awful and their only offensive player of consequence (M J-D) is injured. Luckily for them, they'll have a top-3 pick to screw up come April.
New York Giants over Cincy (+4)- Eli and the Giants haven't impressed much lately but it's hard not to take them with such a small line here. The Bengals likewise haven't impressed anyone lately. I'm not sure about this game, it's a stay-away for my betting friends.
Miami over Tennessee(+6)- Can't take this one quick enough. Don't be fooled by that Bills game, the Titans are an awful team. Look for Tannehill to have a coming-out party of sorts Sunday. Especially since I could probably throw for 300 on this decrepid Titans D. Commence everyone over-reacting to a Miami blowout. I can see it now.
Minnesota over Detroit(-2)- Do we all realize Matt Stafford is on pace to throw for 16 touchdowns this year? Man oh man talk about regression! This one seems like a must win for both teams to remain relevant in playoff talk. Neither has impressed of late and it seems like another loss for either team could be a season ender. But, Peterson has looked incredible these past few weeks and the Lions can't exactly stop the run so I'm gonna go with the Vikes here.
New England over Buffalo (+11)- Get ready for another long Sunday, Bills fans. It's been nearly 12 full years since the Bills have defeated the Pats in New England. And yes, they play there every year. These aren't your father's Patriots but don't expect the Bills to keep this one close. The Bills have been man-handled by good teams all year, don't expect that to change. Side note: Chan Gailey has surpassed Andy Reid as the worst playcaller in the NFL. He didn't call a run play for the last TWENTY MINUTES of game time against Houston. It's real simple Chan, Jackson/Spiller=Good, Fitz+downfield throws= not good. Chan has to be another stinker away from getting fired right?
New Orleans over Atlanta (-2.5)- This seems like a pretty small line for an 8-0 team playing a 3-5 team and maybe it is. But I think this is the week Atlanta goes down. The Falcons have been playing close games with sub-par teams for a few weeks now. New Orleans looks like a different team under Vitt and should also be treated with a little more caution. However, the Saints D is still abysmal. I'd expect to see a high scoring affair here.
Tampa over San Diego(+3)- Tampa's offense has been on fire these past few weeks and frankly, San Diego isn't good. This line should be much higher, it's tough to see Tampa losing here. I won't make any more Norv Turner firing predictions because they just won't do it. He must know some really crazy secrets about Charger's higher ups to be able to keep his job this long. Oh right...about Doug Martin, don't doubt anyone who graced the blue turf. We're a year away from Kellen Moore leading a team to the playoffs, you'll see. You'll all see.
Denver over Carolina(+4)- How the hell did I miss this? How did I underestimate Peyton Manning? After years and years of watching him carry below-average Colts teams to the playoffs, how did I not see this coming? He's now an MVP candidate leading a team that could be headed for a first-round bye. He's the best ever, no doubt in my mind. He's a few weeks away from passing Dan Marino for second all-time touchdowns. I'm sorry for doubting you Peyton, I really am.
Oakland over Baltimore (-7.5)- Not really that crazy of a prediction. The Ravens play down to their competition nearly every week/maybe aren't very good. Look for Baltimore to win a close one here but it's doubtful they'll cover this over-sized line.
Seattle over NYJ (+6)- The Jet's offense is just plain pathetic. They'll have their hands full against a Seattle D that loves playing at home. There are very few quarterbacks who I'd have faith in while playing at Seattle. Aaron Rodgers couldn't win there, Brady couldn't either. Are we supposed to believe Sanchez could? Good joke.
Dallas over Philly (+1.5)- This one comes down to who screws up less on offense. I know Andy Reid hates running the ball but McCoy has to be the focus of this offense. Vick has done his best all year to blow every game. He's on his way out, run the damn ball. Also, this seems like a loser could fire their coach type game. At least, that's what each fanbase hopes.
San Francisco over St. Louis (+11.5)- I don't feel great about this line at all. 12 points is a lot to ask for from a San Fran team that isn't known for blowouts or offensive fireworks. I'd still have to take the Niners here. They're far and away the better team and when in doubt, go with the better team.
Houston over Chicago (-1)-This is the week two things happen:
1. Chicago's defense has their off week. AKA: They don't score multiple tds and carry the team. It can't happen every week, it just can't.
2. Houston asserts itself as the best and most complete team in the league. If they can walk into Chicago and win, they can win anywhere.
Pittsburgh over Kansas City (+12.5)- Good news everyone! A three hour block just opened up on Monday night. You can get some work done or catch up on some shows you've been missing. Because you DO NOT want to watch this Kansas City team in prime time, I guarentee it. Shout-out to the NFL, by the way, for scheduling this game, thanks a lot. Luckily this is just one skid mark on an otherwise pretty exciting football weekend.
Stay Hungry My Friends.
