The Future of Something that happened a Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Far Away

This article will contain quite a few grammatical mistakes because I chose to publish it immediately so that it is still relevant. I know not many people will read this so having perfect grammar isn't my goal but the actual substance of the article. if you have a question about it, talk with me I will verbally answer your question.

This past tuesday was filled with a lot of confusing and conflicting emotions. It was announced that Disney had bought Lucasfilms for the ballpark range of 4 billion dollars, and also announced that they will begin development on a seventh Star Wars film, which will hopefully be the first of a new trilogy, poised for a 2015 release date. Now all that matters is what these films would be about. If it is episode VII then it should take place after Return, that is just logic and keeping chronology. I have thought of a possible story line that I think would be rather interesting and would keep the integrity of the Original Trilogy, while exploring new and exciting themes in the Star Wars universe.

1. Rebuilding the Republic. Unless I missed something at the end of episode VI the Rebel Alliance won, and the Empire fell, and the Jedi Order returned. Shit needs to be put back together in a republican form of government needs to be put back in place, and quick. However when you have a intergalactic allegiance of planets that may take awhile and people might not agree with everyone. Now while a Sci-fi allegory of the construction of American and framing of the Constitution would give me a super-boner, those movies may be dialogue heavy, and not the lightsaber duel heavy of every fan boys wet dream. I think this path would be the next logical step, it however would probably also focus on Luke and Leia again (I'll get to that later), and would not pose a clear antagonist.

2. A rebuilt Jedi Order. These movies should not, but probably will focus on Luke Skywalker and the characters of the original trilogy. They had their movies, and their story, and their role in galactic history. Their time is over, its time for new characters, new stories, new everything. So you skip a few generation into the future and you have an already reestablished New Republic and Jedi Order. Peace has lasted throughout the galaxy since the time of Luke Skywalker. However the new trilogy has to be connected to the other trilogies in some way other than taking place in the same cinematic universe, and the way that it should be done is to have another generation of Skywalker. This new Skywalker, lets call him Pat Skywalker, will preferably be a great-great-great nephew of Luke, and be a direct descendant Anakin. Why is this? Well when Luke reestablished the Jedi's he realized that had his father never fallen in love with his mother, and fathered him, the Jedi may have never fallen because you know what its simple and sweet Jedi's cannot marry, there is no other argument. Actually this leads me to my next point that I want to clear up, and that point is that while Luke and Leia had a connection with the force, does not mean that the force is passed through genetics. The Jedi Order is a multi-millenial Order that at no point allowed its members to marry and reproduce. So anyone can be a Jedi, its just by your personal nature whether or not you have that connection with the force. Maybe being related to a Jedi means you are more predisposed, but I do not see it this way, and I have always seen Luke and Leia's connection with it, a mere coincidence that their father was also a Jedi. I guess then why would Luke and Anakin's descendants be named Skywalker and not Solo because everyone related to Luke and Anakin will be through Leia so their name should be Solo, but the name Skywalker will become equivalent with Caesar. So while they are technically Solos they will adopted the Skywalker moniker because of its importance, but I digress. It's important that the Jedi Order is as strong as it has ever been, and led by the Skywalkers.

3. Pat Skywalker would need somebody to fight with his lightsaber in really cool, and most likely 3-D ways. I think people will hope that the person he is fighting is also wielding a lightsabers and can control the force because otherwise it will be really short and unfair, and most importantly boring fights. This is where I want the Star Wars series to go ultimately because it allows for a make-up for the prequels, and adds to the ultimate saga. So what you do is to have Pat Skywalker to also have a brother, lets call this one Conor Skywalker, (I hope you, if you know me, are sensing a pattern here) that instead of idolizing their distant uncle, he idolizes their distant grandfather. Conor eventually begins to study the Dark Side of the Force, and succumbs to it promise of power.

So this is how I would do the next trilogy. The first film will begin as Pat and Conor become co-consuls on the Jedi Order. The film will deal mostly how they work together but also how they have very different understandings of the force and where it should go. There is a schism between the two brothers and the Jedi's have to make a choice whether they will follow Pat or whether they will follow Conor. This is similar to the great schism of Christianity. The film ends with the two brothers in a lightsaber duel that ultimately ends in a draw because the other cannot kill the other. The second film will take place 2 years after, and it will see the galaxy again in Civil War. Conor who has always wanted to be like Anakin because he believed him to be the chosen one, has come to believe that the only way to rid the world of his brother and restore the Jedi Order to its proper order he must follow the ways of the Dark Side and then return to the Light Side at the end of the War. Pat on the other hand is a disciple of Luke but more importantly he follows the teachings of Obi-Wan Kenobi because he realizes that Obi-Wan Kenobi had the greatest understanding of the force ever. He reluctantly battles his brother and the longer the war continues the more reluctant to fight he becomes. The second movie will end with Pat's forces completely obliterating Conor's because his doubt and uncertainty about fighting led him to become afraid and hateful and ultimately it is Pat who resurrects the Sith and not Conor. Conor then goes into exile. The Third movie will see Conor years after his defeat at the hands of his brother leave his exile. He sees that although his brother is now a Sith he puts up the charade that he is a Jedi, so that he can control the Galaxy by manipulating everyone that it is for the good of the galaxy. Conor having reformed back to the Light Side now makes it his mission to reveal his brother as a Sith and put back together what him and his brother destroyed by finally coming together and working together and bringing another Pax Galactica.

Stay Hungry My Friends,
Pat

P.S. Mike wanted me to also mention the possibility that since Disney owns both Star Wars and the Avengers, and both franchises have movies coming out in 2015 there is a possibility that they are the same movie and will either be the worst movie ever, or the greatest single contribution to existence in the history of existence. If you want me to write about what those movies will be like please message me or comment and if their is enough of a response I will do so.
